AI answers questions about the EU AI Act

EU Commission guidelines raise many questions, especially for companies striving to ensure their AI applications comply with legal requirements.

The EU AI Act came into force on August 1, 2024, applying to providers, users, product manufacturers, and retailers of AI systems, among others. The EU has set transitional periods for implementation: six months for prohibited AI systems, 24 months for high-risk systems, and 36 months for certain product categories.

AI systems that enable state-operated social scoring are classified as an unacceptable risk and are strictly prohibited. High-risk applications include, for example, CV-scanning tools used to rank job applicants. AI applications that are neither explicitly banned nor classified as high-risk remain largely unregulated.

The startup FragDasPDF.de has developed a free AI tool to help entrepreneurs, lawyers, and compliance experts navigate the AI Act and its new guidelines. Users can simply ask questions and receive clear, immediate answers—eliminating the need to search through complex legal texts.
