ASLAN2024 Intends to Boost Digitalisation Through AI
The main Spanish technology congress will focus on generative artificial intelligence and its impact on business modernisation.
On 17 and 18 April, the @aslan association will hold a new edition of its ASLAN Congress&EXPO, which this year celebrates its 31st anniversary, at an important time for the ICT sector in our country, as Alberto Pascual, recently appointed president of the @aslan Association, declared at the press conference prior to the congress.
Their objective is to continue growing – they are about to reach 200 members – and to go beyond the traditional tasks of anticipating trends and dissemination. For example, the executive has set himself the goal of leading the plan for the digital transformation of the national productive fabric through the European Union’s NexGen Funds, of which only a quarter of a total of 160,000 million euros have been executed.
There is, therefore, still a long way to go: “When the opportunity is so great, collaboration is essential”, Pascual pointed out in clear reference to the joint work between public and private entities to make many digitalisation projects a reality by speeding up the contracting mechanisms that, in the traditional way, generate bottlenecks. “And @aslan has to be a facilitator”, said the executive.
ASLAN2024 Congress&EXPO
The congress, which repeats the usual scenario (Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid IFEMA), also coincides with the 35th anniversary of the @aslan association.
Much has changed during these years in the technology industry, something that has been reflected in the topics that are addressed in ASLAN. On this occasion, the main blocks that will be addressed are Data Resilience, Cybersecurity, Digital Workspace, Cloud Datacenter and Intelligent Networks.
All of this with artificial intelligence having a transversal impact on any of them. In fact, generative AI will be the star of this edition due to its impact on business and the day-to-day work of the workforce. Felix de la Fuente, vice-president of the @aslan association (also recently appointed), is clear that generative AI can change the paradigm of companies as, among other things, it increases the possibilities of making decisions based on the data returned by these algorithms.
But before that, organisations need to address various issues such as data sovereignty and privacy to ensure business continuity.
According to him, the recently passed EU AI law will provide the appropriate framework to achieve this, but organisations need to make good use of these technologies. “The ASLAN conference will serve as a reference to show, among other things, how the application of generative AI in the workplace can enable organisations to be more productive and efficient without exposing data,” explained de la Fuente.
In total, ASLAN2024 will have 130 sponsors and exhibitors, 21% more than last year’s edition. The organisers expect more than 7,500 professionals to attend the congress.
