FortiGate 3200F and FortiGate 900G, Fortinet Protection for the Data Centre

Fortinet is strengthening the data centre segment with new next-generation FortiGate firewalls: the FortiGate 3200F and FortiGate 900G.
The first of these devices comes to market with 380 Gbps performance and four 400GE interfaces to handle a high volume of traffic in hyperscale centres. The second offers enterprises 20 Gbps of protection in a compact form factor.
Both share energy efficiency features to contribute to sustainability goals as well as security.
Fortinet’s proposition is integrated with FortiGuard services powered by artificial intelligence, such as URL filtering or content security against emerging file-based attacks.
This announcement comes on the heels of Forrester Consulting’s Total Economic Impact study on the benefits of deploying Fortinet technology in data centres.
The use of FortiGate NGFWs in conjunction with AI-powered Security Services would provide a 318% return on investment over three years and payback in six months, according to the report.
It would also reduce the time spent on manual updates by 90% and, compared to previous NGFW solutions, cut costs by 40%.
