Less Need for Technical Profiles and Other Benefits of ‘Low-Code’
The new way of developing applications “allows companies to adapt to a new digital context,” as highlighted by the Spanish consulting firm atSistemas.
Software developers are among the most in-demand IT professionals. And skills such as low-code remain on the rise, as a guarantee option for organizations and their development needs.
It is “a new way of understanding application development”, as Ignacio Montero Jiménez, Head of Architecture and Development Business at atSistemas, explains.
“Low-code is an evolution of programming paradigms that allows companies to adapt to a new digital context in which it is increasingly important to take on the challenge in a faster and more efficient way due to the changing environment in which we live,” he says. “This is how, with the use of low-code, companies will be able to accelerate, simplify and significantly adapt their development process to align it in time and way with the prevailing business needs.”
For the Spanish consulting firm, there are five outstanding benefits in the use of low-code to create applications.
Firstly, it allows “faster delivery of the final product”, since it simplifies and accelerates its creation. This advantage is based on the use of graphic and declarative technologies. Low-code development platforms use very little code.
Moreover, this trend leads to “constant product improvement”. Based on modules that have already been created, the new development tools make it possible to update applications by reusing code and reducing maintenance costs. In fact, “lower development costs” is another of their strengths.
Another benefit is that there is “less need for specific profiles” at a time when there is a shortage of talent. Workers with little programming experience, such as business analysts or project managers, will be able to develop applications.
Finally, low-code stands out for its “adaptability to each sector”, market and company, starting from basic functionalities.
