RISE with SAP on IBM Power Virtual Server is Coming Soon

It is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2025, SAP and IBM have announced.

IBM and SAP advance the release of RISE with SAP on IBM Power Virtual Server. It is scheduled to be available in Q2 2025.

The mission is to help companies’ ERP transformation with an accelerated path, bringing their environments to the cloud and supporting business processes with artificial intelligence.

As a new hyperscaler offering from SAP, RISE with SAP on IBM Power Virtual Server improves migration time. It will enable SAP S/4HANA workloads to be moved from IBM Power systems within 90 days.

With cloud-based IBM Power Virtual Server, customers will be able to transform on-premise SAP ERP systems.

‘IBM has worked closely with SAP to provide a fast and seamless migration path for customers who rely on the IBM Power platform for their SAP workloads and applications,’ said Rob Thomas, Software & Chief Commercial Office, IBM.

‘This new capability helps reduce the complexity of migrating to the cloud and accelerates impact,’ Thomas highlights as key benefits.

‘SAP is helping organisations achieve peak performance through cloud-based business applications integrated with the power of SAP Business AI,’ said Thomas Saueressig, member of the SAP Executive Committee.

‘This announcement is another milestone in SAP’s long-term partnership with IBM, which offers our joint customers a clear path to the cloud designed for faster time-to-value, greater flexibility and continuous innovation,’ he said.
