Telekom And Google Cloud Have Expanded Their Partnership

Telekom and Google Cloud have expanded their partnership

Cloud performance to move closer to mobile and connected devices.

In autumn 2021, the Telekom subsidiary T-Systems had entered into a partnership with Google Cloud to build and provide sovereign cloud solutions for the public sector, enterprises and healthcare in Germany. Now the two companies want to focus on the following areas:

Core network

A joint pilot project will test a range of network services such as 5G standalone in Austria and solutions to improve data roaming. This will involve Google Cloud as well as Google Distributed Cloud Edge – a fully managed product that brings Google Cloud infrastructure and services closer to where the data is generated and used. The 5G standalone pilot is being conducted in Austria on a private cloud environment.

Network analysis

In another project, Telekom is using Google Cloud’s expertise in data analytics for an even deeper understanding of networks. This should enable more precise planning, optimised operation and thus an improved user experience for customers. In the first step, a number of different applications will be piloted. For example, the detection of anomalies in the network, performance measurements and detection and analysis of complex errors in system processes. The tests use the data-driven processes and automated workflows of the open cloud-native solutions (Kubernetes) from Google Cloud.

Customer Experience

Another project is testing Google Cloud’s solutions for data analysis, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). In a joint feasibility study, Telekom can thus gain a better understanding of customer needs and optimise the customer experience.
