The Potential of Artificial Intelligence for the Mobile Workforce
Panasonic is exploring the integration of this technology into its TOUGHBOOK rugged tablets.
Advances in artificial intelligence are driving its introduction into the workplace and consumer markets, improving the end-user experience.
Panasonic foresees a change in the work environment. The company is looking at integrating this technology into its TOUGHBOOK rugged devices to support mobile employees. The idea is that its tablets will become tools capable of completing administrative tasks, solving problems, scheduling functions, and creating on-site workflows immediately.
One of the benefits derived is the delegation of tasks to the device, while employees gain time to deal with operational challenges. In this case, the need to send requests or return to the office is minimal, and the final output would increase.
Operators who need to travel to repair machinery, check pipes, or inspect wind turbines, for example, will derive further benefits from Panasonic’s approach. When it comes to finding out about potential faults in equipment, Panasonic expects an artificially intelligent TOUGHBOOK to examine several years’ worth of data history.
The Japanese company will refine its portfolio to deliver “a tool capable of answering any questions, making it a great companion for workers”.
