Zoom Inaugurates its Experience Center in London

Zoom opens its first Experience Center in Europe, reaffirming its commitment to the European market.

Zoom Video Communications, Inc. has celebrated the opening of its new Experience Center in the heart of London, with Silicon in attendance. This innovative facility, the first of its kind for Zoom, is designed to inspire and immerse customers and partners in the company’s products, solutions and values. The opening of this centre marks a significant milestone in Zoom’s expansion outside the United States, demonstrating its long-term commitment to the European market.

The Zoom Experience Center opening event began at 12:00 with the arrival of attendees and a light lunch. Saskia Stolper, EMEA Communications Leader, welcomed and introduced the session. Graeme Geddes, Chief Growth Officer, then presented the global strategy and product vision.

Frederik Maris, Head of Zoom EMEA, then gave opening remarks and an update on the region. Joe McStravick, head of channels for EMEA, discussed the channel and partner ecosystem in the region. Gavin Wrenn, COO of Workvivo, was followed by an update on the global business from Kelly Steckelberg, CFO. To conclude, at around 14:30, Izabella Lorenz presented an overview of the Experience Center, culminating in the official opening.

An innovative space in the heart of London

The new Zoom Experience Center, located next to the Engagement Hub in Holborn, has more than 5,000 square metres dedicated to innovation and customer experience. The facility is highlighted by its Lens Wall, a 125-foot-long wraparound fabric wall, which offers an unprecedented immersive experience. This wall houses the world’s first curved LED display with multi-touch interactivity, providing a customisable 360-degree visual experience for each visitor.

One of the centre’s most notable features is the “Boardroom of the Future”. Equipped with a curved 8K seamless floor-to-ceiling curved LED screen and state-of-the-art audio systems, this room exemplifies modern meeting technology powered by Zoom.

Commitment to sustainability

Zoom has designed its Experience Center with a holistic approach to sustainability, achieving LEED Gold certification, a global standard recognised for energy efficiency and green design. Furthermore, in line with its core value of “caring”, Zoom has partnered with the Art for Impact Initiative (AFI) to integrate a tapestry made from 3,500 recycled plastic bags. This work, created in collaboration with the Nicaraguan women’s collective Las Tejedoras, the NGO Casa Congo and the global design firm Unispace, seeks to inspire individual and corporate action in environmental conservation and social impact.

Zoom in Europe

The opening of the Zoom Experience Center in London follows the opening of the Zoom Engagement Hub in August 2023, also in Holborn. This centre offers employees a new office concept designed for the age of hybrid work, providing a modern and engaging workplace.

Frederik Maris, Zoom’s head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), commented: “The new Zoom Experience Center is a testament to our cutting-edge technology and the creativity that Zoom can enable, elevating our international presence outside the US.”
